Dr. Petra Illig is one of very few AME’s in Alaska who is certified by the FAA to manage HIMS cases.

We also believe that our office is the best place in Alaska to obtain a fast, efficient, and competent flight physical. This is all we do, and we do it very well!

Unrestricted Medical Certificates, Conditions AME’s Can Issue, and Special Issuance Authorizations.
This information has been complied as an orientation to the HIMS program.
These are conditions that are not deemed to be disqualifying, so they do not require a Special Issuance Authorization.
Dr. Petra Illig is authorized by Transport Canada to perform Canadian flight physical examinations.
Special Issuance is a category of time-limited medical certification for pilots with disqualifying medical conditions.
Aviation Medical Services offers Coast Guard and Commercial Motor Vehicle physicals by FMCSA certified physicians.
Dr. Petra Illig is approved by Virgin Galactic LLC to perform SpaceFlight Participant flight physicals.

NOTE: if you have any concerns that you are not ready for a flight physical and need first to consult with the AME, it is not necessary to use MedXpress. We prefer to discuss the situation first and obtain the necessary medical records to determine what needs to be done to satisfy the FAA before opening up an application.
