Dr. Ray Legenza

Aviation Medical Services, LLC., welcomes to our group Dr. Ray Legenza as a Senior FAA Aviation Medical Examiner. A 1985 US Naval Academy graduate, Dr. Legenza transferred to the US Air Force when he enrolled at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences medical school in Bethesda, MD.  

He completed a residency in Emergency Medicine at Wright-Patterson/Wright State School of Medicine, Dayton, Ohio. After retiring in 2010 from JBER, Dr. Legenza remained in the area, providing care at several local Emergency Departments until concentrating on Aviation Medicine.

A distinguished graduate of the Air Force’s Aerospace Medicine Primary course and the Advanced Flight Surgeon Symposium, Dr. Legenza’s credentials include numerous service and personal decorations, including a citation for valor during combat. An instrument-rated pilot, Dr. Legenza flew the S-3B Viking carrier-based jet in the Navy along with numerous Air Force tactical, transport, and surveillance aircraft as a rated Flight Doc.
